The SPECIAL Call Of The Giver ❗️

The SPECIAL Call Of The Giver ❗️

As I was praying this week at work, the Lord placed a revelation on my heart! To give you some context, my spirit was heavy and I was sharing with Jesus how I felt I was always on the giving end. How I’m always the friend to check in to see how everyone else is doing and how I always seem to be an after thought! How everyone always shows appreciation of my random texts to offer encouraging words and speak life over them while my cup is completely empty. I chatted for a while with him, completely laying my heart out about others things as well, but what he spoke to me about love and giving really blessed my soul!

The first scripture that he placed in my heart was Luke 6:35 which reads “But love ye your enemies, and do good and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest; for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.” Followed by the second scripture in 1 Corinthians 13:5It (LOVE) does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” The parts that stood out to me are bolded and they are that we are to give expecting nothing in return and that love is not selfish and keeps no records of wrong (here in my case keeping records of wrongs isn’t in the literal sense, but more about keeping records of what I felt others weren’t doing for me)! As I meditated on these two verses the Lord revealed to me my error and how selfish my love had been!

The conviction I got was how I often treat God the same way, accepting his good gifts, laying my request at his feet, and expecting things from him! Neglecting to give thanks and show appreciation of how good he’s been to me. He also revealed how I’d overlooked the fact that my friends were in fact appreciative of me because my encouragement often came at a time they needed it the most! More importantly, he revealed that he uses me to lift up my brothers and sisters in Christ by prompting me to check in never knowing what they’re facing in that very moment!

After gentle correction and opening my eyes to the error in my thinking, he beautifully pointed me back to the person I am and how naturally I am a giver! This explains why I’m always looking for ways to give back and also love giving gifts ! So it goes without saying that I also naturally pour back into others! He shifted my way of thinking from negative to positive and how he uniquely designed me to be a giver not just materially, but emotionally as well! He helped me to realize that although at times it feels like a burden to pour myself out to others, I should run to the Father to refill my cup and not others!

If you identify with anything I mentioned today, I want to encourage you that God has given us all unique responsibilities. I believe being a person that’s shows love through giving is a special calling. I pray that God reveals to you just how precious this calling is! You never know how much you may be impacting someone’s life just by showing them that they were on your mind!

Scriptures To Encourage The Giver

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”(Proverbs 11:25)

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.(Hebrews 13:16)

“Freely you have received; freely give.(Matthew 10:8)

Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.” (Psalm 112:5)
