TRUSTING GOD WITH THE TIMING OF YOUR LIFE !
June 19, 2025
Most if not all humans generally have a timeline of their entire life planned out. Having it all figured out starts early in childhood as the famous question “What do you want to be when you grow up” inevitably comes up in every grade school classroom. The pressure starts early in life. As we grow older we begin to see that life is no fairytale, and often times we are no where near where we thought we’d be! Perhaps you haven’t finished school, find yourself unmarried, without children, or haven’t obtained that high paying job you just knew you’d have! Whatever the case may be, falling short of these expectations often leave us feeling defeated and behind in life.
Gods word plainly states, “Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that” (James 4:13-15). I often wonder how much more at peace we would be if we were equally taught in adolescence to seek God & his will for our life. I’m willing to bet a lot more of us would be walking out the purpose God has for us a lot sooner!
This isn’t to discourage you from having dreams and personal goals. God cares about every detail of our lives. However, the reality is that only those goals and plans that align with his will come into fruition. I personally have exhausted much energy going after things God never ordained for my life. In return, I was left depleted, disappointed, and frustrated that my life was not progressing at the rate I felt it should be. It wasn’t until I fully surrendered my will for the Lords that I began to feel a sense of peace.
Our faith in Christ must be renewed daily. There are still days I find myself trying to reason with my limited understanding, but now I’m more conscious to set my heart and mind back on his will for my life. We must be mindful to consult with the Lord first in all we do.
I want to encourage you as I close. God has not forgotten you, he cares for you, and his plans are to prosper you. We serve a God who is not confined by time. “He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). Find encouragement knowing our God can restore years we thought were lost when we put our trust and faith in him. You are not forgotten, he hears and see you!

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
"I am the Lord, and when it is time, I will make these things happen." (Isaiah 60:22)
